An electronics multimeter is an electronic device used to measure voltage, current and resistance. A multimeter is usually made of two or more separate instruments that are combined into a single unit with a common case and display, often with multiple scales on the same dial. It’s called a multi-tester as well.
An electronics multimeter will be primarily used to measure AC and DC voltage, resistance and current. It will also be able to measure transistors (PNP/NPN) diodes, capacitance, frequency and duty cycle.
Getting a multimeter is an important part of electronics projects as it allows you to troubleshoot circuits or other devices when something does not work properly.
